These beautiful silver pieces look as if they came straight from the Dowager’s parlor! As featured in the popular show Downton Abbey, mealtimes, particularly dinner, were a ceremonious affair. The practice of creating elaborate, multi-course meals began in France in the late 17th century and soon spread throughout Europe. We see the Crawley family continue this practice of extravagant meals even when only family is present. The courses are served upon silver trays and sauceboats amongst the silver candlesticks as a sign of wealth and societal importance. While we don’t necessarily keep the elaborate customs of a European royal family in our day-to-day lives, these timeless pieces can add a regal touch to any dinner party or teatime!
Prices vary by piece. $58.95 – $195.95
