Journaling can be a perfect habit to form to help slow down. It can be used to organize thoughts for a new story, document the day for future nostalgia, practice drawing, or simply a place to pour your thoughts into the pages to give clearer vision. If you have started eyeing journals with their bound leather or bright designs, or have a stack at home, but are not quite sure where to start, here are a few tips on how to create a daily journal.
Gratitude. Begin documenting three things you are thankful for that day. They may be big, such as family or friends. Or they may be small, like your pot of tea coming out perfectly. Forming the habit of gratitude helps both document the day and also create optimism and joy.
If creating long passages seems a bit daunting, draw a picture of your favorite scene from that day. That interesting tree in the park or how the sunrise looked that morning. Journaling your thoughts doesn’t necessarily always mean words.
Bring your journal with you wherever you go. You never know when someone says a quote you want to remember or the inspiration will strike!
Journal prices range $8.99 – $29.95
