Achieving Excellence – Veronica’s Story
This inspirational story takes place at The St. James Tearoom in Albuquerque, New Mexico. We are honored to be named one of the Top Workplaces by the Albuquerque Journal! Veronica is one of the wonderful leaders who makes the Tearoom a great place to work.
Excellence is achieved by doing one small task, one small deed at a time. By giving to others in seemingly small ways, you are achieving excellence.
At The St. James Tearoom, we are committed to excellence, among our other aspirations.
Our five aspirations are Grace, Civility, Beauty, Gentility, and Excellence. They are what drive us forward, they are how we Value, Honor, and Appreciate others in the work that we do.
The St. James Tearoom is a catalyst for change, a counter-cultural element in our society. A place for people to turn off their cell phones, leave their busy lives behind for 2 hours and share a beautiful English-style afternoon tea together and grow in deeper connection and relationship.
Excellence is a pursuit, an ongoing exertion toward the highest, the best, the unsurpassed. It is a resounding shout to move ever Onward and Upward!
Excellence shudders at the epithet Mediocre, striving instead toward the unsurpassed, highest, and best. In relentless exertion, Excellence has an eye that sees the whole, and sees every detail, too.
It cares and cares zealously, not for applause, but for service. The highest form of Excellence is motivated by a desire to give its very best!
