Second Star to the Right

A night sky of black tea twinkling with marshmallows, caramel, toffee bits, and even a touch of pixie dust!

Steeping Directions

Learn how to make “Second Star to the Right” to enjoy at home!

  • Basic
  • Connoisseur

Basic

 water at a simmer or a rolling boil (~180-212° F)

 1 tsp tea leaves per 6 oz. water (standard teacup)

 ~ 2 3 ⁄4 minutes: Drain tea strainer, serve, and enjoy!

 white or brown sugar will complement, but milk is not recommended

Tea Tip: When scooping teas with sparkles or larger pieces, make sure to get a good balance of all the different ingredients.

Connoisseur

 water at a rolling boil (~212° F)

 1 1⁄2 even Tbsp tea leaves (32 oz. water / medium-sized teapot)

1 3⁄4 even Tbsp tea leaves (48 oz. water / large-sized teapot)

 ~ 2 minutes: pause timer, drain tea strainer, return, continue steeping

 ~ 2 1⁄2 minutes: start tasting every 15 seconds, steeping to your preference

~ 2 3⁄4 minutes: recommended steep time for “Second Star to the Right” Drain tea strainer, serve, and enjoy!

 white or brown sugar will complement, but milk is not recommended

Tea Tip: Taste by pouring only a quarter inch of tea into the cup.
