Temporary Closure Notice
Dear Friends and Guests,
Starting tomorrow, March 19th, The St. James Tearoom will be closing all Dine-In service until further notice, joining our peers in the dining industry in Albuquerque in following the mandate of Governor Lujan Grisham to close all restaurants and bars until April 10th, in an attempt to slow the spread of this coronavirus.
At this time, we understand that in complying with this order, we may use our Gift Shop for pickup, where guests can pickup frozen or baked scones to-go, tea (which is proven to be anti-viral!), or other items to have tea at home. (Please check our website early next week for a link and instructions on how to pre-order.)
We are sad to throw a wrench into our guests’ plans and understand many of you have had reservations for months, some for connecting with friends and family, some for celebrating baby showers or weddings, some to commemorate the life of a departed love one.
This is one of the most difficult situations we’ve been presented with in our 20+ years of service, not only being restricted and unable to serve our guests during this time of need, but also in sending 64 of the best employees’ home for these weeks.
Take care of yourself and one another. Check on your neighbors. Stay connected to loved ones.
Rest assured, we will reopen as soon as we are allowed, and we hope to see you soon.
Yours for Grace, Civility, Beauty, Gentility, and Excellence,
Mary Alice and Daniel Higbie
