April 2019 – Halla
This month we are excited to honor Halla as our Employee of the Month. Halla has been part of the team since November 2017 as a Server.
The Tearoom always gets a little bit brighter when Halla is on shift. She sees the best in others and is gracious with her time and energy. When faced with a task or a list of to-do’s, an automatic reaction may be to put one’s head down and power through and hope for no interruptions. However, Halla sees those interruptions as an opportunity to bless others.
She takes a little bit of extra time to really find out how someone’s day is going, or to give a little gift to brighten someone’s day. The laughter of Halla’s teammates and guests is a testament to how she touches the lives around her with joy.
C.S. Lewis said, “The truth is of course that what one calls the interruptions are precisely one’s real life.” Thank you, Halla, for bringing care and concern to what we may regard as interruptions and for taking the time to turn them into blessings! We are so glad to have you as part of The St. James Family!
