September 2017 – Matthew

Matthew, our September 2017 Employee of the Month, is relatively new to our Tearoom family, so being chosen by his peers to represent them underscores how well he fits in here. As a Server, Matthew has a spirit of excellence that has revealed itself in his attention to detail and efficiency. He excels at vacuuming, a task that must be done quickly between tea times, and responsibly looks ahead with an eye to help out others, which makes him a strong team player. He has a willingness to learn and grow and has truly welcomed our guests by making personal connections and going above and beyond in serving, providing Sanctuary, and building relationships. These qualities have led to his promotion as Assistant Special Events Coordinator. In addition to his fine work here, Matthew uses the BFA degree he earned at UNM to intern at Remarque Print Studio & Gallery, where he is pursuing excellence by perfecting his skill as a printmaker.
