Blueberry Festival Iced Tea Recipe with Blueberry Simple Syrup

By The St. James Tearoom

This Blueberry Festival Iced Tea Recipe is perfectly refreshing for any hot day. It uses our very own Blueberry Festival black-green tea blend, and we particularly enjoy it with Blueberry Simple Syrup for a true summer delight. Serve with fresh blueberries, and remember to make your ice cubes out of the tea itself so your tea doesn’t get watered down! This Blueberry Festival Iced Tea Recipe will keep you cool and refreshed for years to come!

Blueberry Festival Iced Tea Recipe with Blueberry Simple Syrup

Prep Time: 25 minutes + cooling and chilling

Serves ~4

Ingredients:

  • 4 heaping Tbsp. Blueberry Festival loose leaf tea
  • 72 oz. boiling water
  • 1 cup blueberries
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • fresh blueberries for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Brew our Blueberry Festival tea using our hot brew method, according to the steep time on the package. Let the tea cool completely on the counter before chilling in the refrigerator.
  2. Using a whisk, mix blueberries, water, and sugar together in a small saucepan over low heat until sugar is dissolved. Increase heat to medium and bring to a gentle boil, stirring often, until syrup is thickened, about 10 – 15 minutes. Strain blueberries and let the syrup cool completely before serving or chilling in the refrigerator.
  3. Serve with fresh blueberries for garnish!

Enjoy!

St. James Iced Tea Secret:

Tired of watered down tea because your ice melts into your tea and dilutes it? Make the ice cubes out of the same tea you are serving! This is one of our oldest tricks to keep your tea from watering down with normal ice cubes. Brew hot tea for the ice cubes at least one night before. Let the tea cool before pouring into ice cube trays. Put your trays in the freezer until your ice cubes are frozen and ready to serve.
