Custom-Designed Teatime Invitation

Make an ordinary event extraordinary by giving a custom-designed teatime invitation card to your loved one instead of a text or comment about making plans to celebrate Valentine’s Day at the Tearoom. Start making your teatime special before the ship’s bell ever even rings. This invitation was custom-designed by the Tearoom specially for our “La Vie en Rose” menu. Once you’ve written a message inside, leave it somewhere special for your loved one to find. Here are a few ideas:

  • On the dashboard of their car to find as they leave for work; include a small stuffed animal for additional ‘aww’ factor.
  • With their beverage of choice on the counter for when they wake up in the morning; include a scone or biscotti for an extra-special treat.
  • Tucked into their purse or briefcase to find sometime that day; sprinkle in a few chocolates for something sweet to accompany it.
  • Taped with ribbon inside a cupboard so that it will drop down when opened; add some loose rose petals for added effect.
  • Neatly arranged on a tray for a surprise breakfast in bed; add sprigs of wildflowers for additional color.
  • Slipped onto their pillow case or into a clothing drawer; include a necklace, or pair of cufflinks for an extra-special gift.

Inspired by Paris and our “La Vie en Rose” menu, we have created “Délice à la Fraise” (strawberry delight), a house-made cocktail for you to enjoy.

Fresh strawberry, Vermouth, and Lillet Blanc have been lovingly blended together in this refreshing drink that is sure to help you see the world through rose-colored glasses! A non-alcoholic version will also be available upon request.

Tips from a Tea Master: Victoria

A lot goes into the perfect cup of tea. Today’s tip on how to brew the ideal cup comes from Victoria, one of the Tearoom’s Servers:

“Teatime is a true art form in and of itself, right down to the smallest detail. Scones are one of the most traditional staples to any teatime, and with them, as to be expected, is served some sort of delectable curd and clotted cream. Clotted cream is traditionally used only on scones; however, when I have made a particularly strong traditional black tea, one of my favorite things to do is to add a bit of clotted cream to my cup in place of cream or sugar. It adds a richness and flavor that is exemplary. My favorite teas to do this with are Sir Philip Sidney and English Breakfast. It just seems to add to the richness of these teas as well as some boldness and daring to their already bold nature.”
