Airship H.M.S. St. James Flight #274
What if the World were Powered by Steam and the Victorian Age had Not Ended?

This September you are cordially invited aboard the H.M.S. St. James, a luxury airship, for a very special Steampunk Tea. Our imaginary journey begins when the ship's bell rings and we set out to explore what might have been. Enter a world of beauty, ingenuity, and imagination, where industry is powered by cogs and wheels, airships sail the skies, all that is made is crafted carefully and intended to last, and Victorian styles and manners and Edwardian elegance reign supreme. All guests are invited to dress in tasteful steampunk attire and bring their own steampunk creations, inventions and blueprints. Come hear about the origins and great minds of this creative genre and enjoy a sumptuous tea with an assortment of sweets and savories in the St. James tradition.

Costumes are Mandatory!  Airship Police will Eject any Traveler in Modern Attire

For those wishing for help in creating costumes, the following links have been suggested by various steampunk fans. Although some of the items featured on these links are not in keeping with the traditions of good breeding and elegance we at the TeaRoom prefer, there are many helpful items as well.

Murder and Mayhem at the St. James Mansion

"How often have I said to you that when you have eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, however improbable, must be the truth?"
-Sherlock Holmes in The Sign of the Four

A murder has been committed at the St. James Estate. Mr. Lipton T. Bags, the owner of the estate was found floating face first in the fountain. All guests and employees of the mansion must gather in the library. No one is allowed to leave the premises until the murderer has been identified. Luckily Detective Sue Pairslooth has been called in to help. Guests will take part in determining who among them is responsible for this heinous crime. Of course, Mr. Bags wouldn't want his guests to go hungry as they decipher the clues, so a full afternoon tea will be served. Each of the participants of this event will receive an identity in the mail. Your task is to come in character for the evening, pay close attention, share what you know (clues and information will be provided that evening) and hope that you are not one of the eight suspects. Detective Pairslooth will lead you through the investigation and each participant will make an accusation. Good luck uncovering the truth!
